Reading isn't easy for everyone. But the key to reading is finding what you like. At first it's hard due to not knowing and not being able to explore all of your options. The options and variables are numerous and different for everyone. The location, surroundings, content, writing style, are all up to your personal preferences.
Continuing, where you read and what's happening around you can be a big part of it. For example, I enjoy reading anywhere as long as I can have something playing in the background like music, however some of my peers can only enjoy reading if they are by themselves with no distractions. The location is to your own discretion and depends on what you like and enjoy meaning it's different for everyone.
The content and writing style can be a big part of it too. The genres are extremely more universal than they used to be. You can read anything from historical fiction to a made up fairy world with Gods that a random author came up with on a random Tuesday afternoon. For most, the go-to genre is young adult novels. These are the easiest to relate to and enjoy. They usually consist of young adults trying to figure out their own lives making the audience feel heard and relaxed regarding their own lives.
The options are limitless and a little intimidating, but the only way to figure out what you truly like is to start experimenting with different genres, authors, scenery, and personal preferences. The best way to figure out you enjoy is to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.
