The Virgin Suicides

The Virgin Suicides is a novel by Jeffrey Eugenides. This book plunges into the depths of a group of teenage sisters minds. From a young adult to a young girl we get to feel the pain they all go through as they deal with the loss of their minds and each other.

This book took me a very long time to read for it was quite disturbing. You think it can't get any worse and then it does. I wasn't ready for how emotionally hard it would be on me until after I was done and could not stop thinking about what had happened to those poor girls. This is not for the fainted heart nor for the fainted soul. The book itself had a very good message with a good and quirky like backstory for all of the characters. The hidden humor within the side characters was hard to catch until looking back and deciphering for myself.

I would recommend this to anyone who is in need of a good cry or a fresh look on life. This book was very good but a very emotionally hard to deal with. I rate The Virgin Suicides a 6/10.
